Trances (1980)
85min | French with subtitles | Ahmed El Maânouni
From the 70s, Morocco has known, thanks to five musicians trained in the street school and decided to break with the invading "oriental languors", a musical explosion which was to be for young people the cry of their desires, of their frustrations and their revolt.
In " Trances ", Ahmed El Maânouni traces the geographical and cultural itinerary of this group: Nass El Ghiwane . Through their songs, the film addresses traditional social themes (tea or exchange, fire or suffering, water or the dryness of hearts), but also major contemporary issues (time, history, laughter, hope)
